My ‘why’

In my journey as a licensed Immigration Adviser for over a decade, the ever-evolving landscape of Immigration New Zealand often prompts me to reconnect with my "why."

My 'why' was discovered early in my career, when a woman in desperate need of assistance sought my help. She had already been turned away by several large consultancies, all deeming her case too difficult. She was a holistic childcare provider specialising in Steiner education, yet not a registered educator.

Taking on her case, I worked tirelessly to secure a work visa for her, which was approved as an exception to the usual rules. Over the years, we successfully renewed her visa several more times. However, one year, her application was declined.

With her heart and soul firmly rooted in New Zealand, along with her children and grandchildren, we embarked on an appeal process with the Immigration Protection Tribunal. Our efforts culminated in her being granted a New Zealand Residency visa, ensuring her long-term stay in the country.

Clients like her are my "why." They are the reason I do what I do. I take pride in thinking outside the box and providing assistance to those who struggle to find help elsewhere.

Of course, navigating such difficult cases is never guaranteed. Yet, many people backed into a corner would rather fight for their dreams than surrender. And that determination inspires me every day in my role as a Licensed Immigration Adviser.
